Big Sister: Amanda Stoecker
What is your job?
Right now school is my main job. However, if I go home on a weekend I will occasionally babysit for triplets and a blind and autistic child.
What are your hobbies?
I enjoy being outdoors so activities like camping, hiking, biking, and swimming. My favorite hobby has to be doing anything that involves horses. I have two horses and I mostly do trail riding but am not picky when it comes to horses! I also enjoy baking, reading, traveling, and watching a good movie or TV series/ show with a friend.
Why did you join A.O.E.?
I joined A.O.E. because of the sisters in it. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming that I felt I was meant to be in the sorority as well. It is so nice having lots of people to talk to and do activities with. It also is a good way for me to try new things and meet people from different majors.
Why did you choose your major?
I chose BioMolecular engineering because I have always loved biology and chemistry and am interested in what goes on behind the scenes, what we can’t see. I also have an interest in how this type of engineering can impact the future and change how people are living. Tissue engineering and bioprinting are some of my interests in the field but, as a freshman, I am just beginning to learn about all the different parts of my major and how there are so many different paths you can take.
